"The life of an Edale pebble"
The second concept was to follow the life of a pebble. The storyboard above is a suggestion for the opening sequence, drawing this gave me some interesting ideas for how the story should continue. The first shot is a close up of a gravel path - my idea for this since drawing the story board has changed due to reflecting on my research pictures and I now think that opening establishing shots of the hills and surrounding areas should be shown and then cut to a close up of the path with the pebble in focus. To reiterate that this will be the focal point of our journey through Edale, a close up of the pebble itself will be shown before cutting to the pathway again. A boot will dislodge the pebble in this shot and we could have a shot following this (which is again not story boarded but I'm thinking of adding in) that shows the pebble bouncing down the path. My next idea is to have a point of view shot from the pebble, showing the sky which the bottom of a shoe begins to emerge into and slowly come towards the screen. A cut to black would finish the opening sequence, indicating the pebble being stepped on by the shoe. The rest of the film would be following the pebbles journey through displacements and sometimes point of view before ending with being collected by a walker as a memento of Edale. I think that this is a more viable idea than the first idea as there is a narrative built in and it involves the audience more. I feel that it's still practical as it only includes various shots that may need an actor.
